Re-designing the site has been on my list of things to do for a very long time, but before we got to work, I first got this 1930s Remington Typewriter and I knew I had to include it in my photo shoot. I think every writer should own one.

Here it is! Here it finally is!  I feel like I’ve been talking about getting my site re-designed for centuries and today the waiting game is over.

Over two years ago I was feeling a billion and one emotions, frustration, depression, and anxiety, were the most prevalent.  I also have to add I was on the brink of turning 25, and I was panicking.  As a result of these feelings, I signed up for Blogspot and decided it was time, time to write my first blog.  After all I had graduated years prior with the intentions of one day becoming a journalist.

Back in 2009, when I graduated, the market was simply awful, the journalism field (and every field for that matter) was downsizing.  Many publications including Home Media Magazine, the location where I interned my senior year, at CSUF, wasn’t hiring.  I was discouraged.  So I continued to work in an industry that by no means was my dream job, as a necessity for income.

However, as the years zipped by, my love for writing and reporting never went away.  Luckily, (at that time) I had the support of one individual who gifted me my own domain and helped put together my first site.   It was like providing an aspiring painter their first canvas.  I can’t say I produced any real works of art, but it definitely became my expressive outlet, and the fuel I needed to get me started.

So after losing a job, a strained relationship with a childhood friend, experiencing what seemed to be the most painful breakup, and a lot of other hangs ups (in only the past two years), I found me, a new me.  This time I found a stronger voice and a clearer image in my mind of what I’d like to attain.  So it was only a matter of time for me to unveil my new canvas, a reflection of my past, my present and with an opportunity for my future.

Hope you all enjoy the new features and design.  Thank you to those who follow my posts here, on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and now you can also “PIN” away onto Pinterest.  Keep coming back and keep sharing with your friends, a writer needs an audience.
